The Westport Club was named ‘Club of the Year’ at the annual ClubsNSW Awards For Excellence, held on Friday night at the Sydney Convention Centre.

This prestigious title is awarded to the Club who demonstrates excellence in service and management in key areas such as financial management, community service, human resource management, along with exceptional delivery of products such as dining, gaming and entertainment.

The Westport Club’s General Manager, Anthony Westman, was thrilled to accept the award.

“Our entire team has worked tirelessly on the continuous improvement of our products, member relations, encouragement of sport and community support”, Mr Westman said.

“The Westport Club has managed to rise from the depths of despair in just 4 short years and we accept this award acknowledging the support we have received from our members and community in Port Macquarie. Our club is here for the community”, he said.

The Westport Club received recognition as a Finalist in all of the 8 Award categories they nominated for this year. These include Club of the Year – Medium Club, Best Casual Dining Venue, Best Club Gaming Venue, Outstanding Financial Management, Best Club Entertainment, Outstanding Human Resource Management, Encouragement of Amateur Sport and Oustanding Community Service.

The last twelve months has seen The Westport Club solidify its presence and contribution to the Port Macquarie community, forming many partnerships with community, sporting and welfare groups. The Club’s members are what makes it’s club environment so wonderful, social and caring. Their support enables The Westport Club to progress the club and live our vision ‘to make a significant contribution to the quality of community life’.
