Hastings Choristers’ highly successful Christmas at the Glasshouse concert in December emphasised the warm and fond relationship between the choral group and the Hastings community. The concert was sold out and received rave reviews for its diverse program of song, dance, instrumental and festive season choral performances.
With 2010 shaping up to be the biggest year in the group’s 20 year history, Hastings Choristers is extending an invitation for new members to join their friendly, supportive team and participate in future performances, including those in the superb environment and acoustics of the Glasshouse.
No previous experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to be involved. If you do have previous singing experience, Hastings Choristers is the perfect outlet for you to indulge your passion. New chums are asked to come along to several Monday rehearsals to experience singing with either or both of our adult choirs – there’s no obligation to join.
Many choristers travel from areas outside of Port Macquarie to be part of the group, and all ages are represented. Male voices are especially welcome because of the challenges of the beautiful Fauré Requiem, part of ‘In Flanders Fields’, our tribute to the fallen, on Anzac weekend.
The first 2010 rehearsal will be on 1 February at MacKillop Senior College, commencing with a social BBQ at 6.30pm. If you love fine music as we do, come sing with us!
> WE’RE LOOKING FOR AN ACCOMPANIST
Hastings Choristers is seeking the services of an experienced accompanist for the 2010 program. Candidates will need excellent piano sight-reading skills and preferably will have experience as a vocal and choir accompanist.

Four major concert programs are presented each year, covering classical, musical theatre and contemporary repertoire.
An appropriate remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applications close 28 February 2010. For further information, contact Robyn Ryan, Musical Director on 0407 007 993 or Helen Pain, President on 0432 232 054.
