The 6th Annual 2MCFM GIVE ME 5 FOR KIDS Hospital Fundraiser is on again during the month of June.

The Holiday Coast region (from the Camden Haven through to the Nambucca) has raised more than $116 000 over the past 5 years for our four local hospitals in Port Macquarie, Macksville, Kempsey and Wauchope through the generous donation of thousands of 5 cent pieces, via numerous fundraising events organized by clubs and organizations across our community and from the purchase of dozens of Auction items. All money raised is used to acquire vital medical equipment to specifically assist in the treatment of young patients.

This year’s target is $28 000 which will allow our local hospitals to purchase a Vital Signs Monitor, Twin Cots, A Reclining Breast Feeding Chair, Infant Scales, Phototherapy Light, an Oxygen Saturation Probe Monitor and will also partly fund a replacement Birthing Bed.

Donations can either be placed in the specifically marked GM5FK Donation Tins at participating businesses, directly into the GM5FK Account at any branch of the Holiday Coast Credit Union or cheques can be sent to 2MCFM at PO Box 1161 Port Macquarie NSW 2444.

This year’s auction items include framed and autographed Gold Coast Titans and Parramatta Eels Jumpers with the framing work kindly donated by Ormond’s Framing. Fundraising events include a Charity Bowls Day at the Macksville Country Club on June 5, a Golf Day at the Camden Haven Club in Kew on June 25 and also a mufti-day known as “Footy Jumper Friday” where everyone is encouraged to wear their favourite footy jumper to work no matter what code you follow and in doing so make a gold coin donation to the appeal.
