Buy your own seat at the Glasshouse

Seats are now on sale in the Glasshouse Theatre—and not just for a single performance. The Play A Part Seat Endowment Program gives the community an opportunity to be directly involved in the historic opening of the Glasshouse Arts, Conference and Entertainment Centre, by endowing a seat in the name of a person, group or loved one.

The endowment (of either $1,500 or $3,000) will see the name of the person or group etched into a plaque that will be attached to the front of one of the seats in the theatre and will remain in situ for the life of the seat (approx 20 years). People also have the opportunity to choose which seat they would like to endow.

“Endowing a seat will help ensure future programming in the Glasshouse,” says Lesley Atkinson, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Director Community & Cultural Development. “These donations are a way for groups or individuals to make a contribution to the community. The money will support education programs and community activities that now have a worthy home in the Glasshouse.”

The contributions are placed into an establishment fund that will provide performance and training opportunities for youth, school groups and the community across the life of the Glasshouse.

While endowing a seat doesn’t guarantee you that seat for performances, where possible box office staff will endeavour to allocate your seat to you if it is available when booking.

The Play A Part program officially launched on August 1, and already five seats have been endowed.
